Welcome from Task Force Chair, Paula Winkler!

We’d like to introduce you to the Challenge Walk MS: Charleston Challenge 2013 Task Force Chair, Paula Winkler.  Paula has been an incredible participant and volunteer for the Challenge Walk for the past 12 years. She has been an integral part of the planning process for the Challenge Walk MS since 2007 and has served as Challenge Walk MS Committee Chair/Task Force Chair since 2009.

Paula indeed has “Accepted The Challenge”.  The Charleston Challenge 2013 will be Paula’s 16th event in which she has walked – 12 Carolinas Challenge Walk MS events and 4 Chesapeake Challenge Walks in Maryland, including Maryland’s inaugural Challenge Walk in 2003.  Paula’s team started out with 3 members in 2002 and was known as Sister Act Repeat.  Her team grew to 19 teammates last year when they added several Merrill Lynch members and changed their name to Sister Act & The Thundering Herd.  Paula has been a Top Five Fundraiser since 2005 and is most proud of her team’s accomplishments of being in the Top 25 in the nation for MS event fundraising since 2007.

Paula and her Task Force members want to encourage you to bring at least one more walker to your team this year.  We have grown two and a half fold in walkers in the past two years, but we need to make that 300 mark in walkers and only you can help make that happen.  The Challenge Walk MS: Charleston Challenge 2013 is unique to other Challenge Walks across the country in that we were the founding Chapter of the Event and have kept it a “Family Affair” with our annual “Family Reunion” at Challenge Walk!
